You lost zero pounds. Whoo hoo! (didn't gain either!)
Maintaining my weight during the holidays hasn't been a problem, so far. My diet has been three squares, and lots of rounds (cookies). I think it's the dining out that does me in, and this year, I opted to (primarily) entertain at home and prepare lot's of healthy meals. I don't think my house guests know they've been eating Weight Watchers Recipes all week!
I'm looking forward to more holiday revelry with family tonight and tomorrow, then it's hibernation week! This is the week I turn into a complete anti-social hermit in order to recharge my batteries for the New Year! I plan on sleeping, walking, reading, cleaning, practicing lots of yoga and meditating, I might do some reading up on vegetarian diets and try to make some changes in that regard...small at first, and maybe go out for some hikes and day trips if the weather allows. Jacob and Rob have the week off too. I'm not sure what their plans are (kidding).
I think 2011 is going to be "The Year of Positive Changes For Real This Time". Last year I made some attemps, changed some things and lived a pretty healthy lifestyle, nothing too radical or different than normal. It was also "The Year I Got Married", so that took up quite a bit of time and energy.
I don't really do "Resolutions", but I think I may this year. I'm working on my list:
1) Give of my time (and/or money if I have any) to a local charity or find an organization I can volunteer for.
I read an article about a couple who make 57K per year, but live on 22K. They give the rest away (that's 35k!) to Oxfam. They live in an 890 square foot apartment, ride bikes as transportation, and buy second hand. They can't see living with so much "luxury" when half the world lives on less than $2 per day. What can I live without so that others won't go without?
2) Make time for yoga and meditation
It's what makes me sane and healthy - inside and out. Amazing stuff happens when I stick with it!
3) Consider the Eearth and all of it's creatures before I make food or other "goods" choices, or any choices for that matter
I already buy local as much as I can and try to know where my "meat" comes from and how it's raised and slaughtered. I'd like to take it a little farther and also include more of my purchased goods while I'm at it.
4) Be present, be myself, live my own truth
This includes blogging about my weight loss journey (I changed my mind).
That's all I've got so far - Give, Make, Consider, Be - and I have privately added numerous other sentences after each word that will be included in my "Positive Changes" resolutions this year, but I don't want to give all my secrets away! How about you? Any resolutions this go-round?
Merry Christmas!!!
