Today I start the 2nd cycle of 17 days. This is the cycle where I will eat no carbs one day, then eat certain carbs (brown rice, quinoa, etc. still no bread or pasta or beans/legumes) the next day, no carbs, some carbs, no carbs, some carbs, etc. etc.
The first cycle wasn't too difficult, although I did get bored after the first two weeks and I did cheat a little - I had one hot dog (no bun) when I was working the grill at snack shack, one chocolate chip cookie, a homemade hamburger on a whole wheat bun with sweet potato baked fries, pizza and cake for Jacob's birthday, some plain popcorn once or twice and some cocktails and wine now and then. It sounds like a lot of cheating when I write it all down like this, but spread out over 17 days, it's not so bad. I lost a total of 6 pounds (lost 7, then gained 3, then lost 2) over the course of the first cycle. Sometimes without doing anything. I gained when I wasn't cheating, then lost when I cheated...there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.
So on to cycle two! I'll try to be a bit more mindful this time, I still have a plateau to crush.
